It’s almost time for Rising Economy 2024, the highly anticipated conference focused on helping businesses survive and succeed in the new economy.

Now in its third year, this top-rated conference, hosted by South Island Prosperity Partnership from March 6 to 8, 2024 in Victoria at the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort, explores massive changes and economic opportunities ahead. Thought leaders, innovators and business leaders will provide timely, actionable insights for a rapidly changing world.

Keynote highlights include:

  • FutureShift: Powerful Trends Shaping Tomorrow’s Economy with Linda Nazareth

In her timely keynote, economist and futurist Linda Nazareth discusses challenges and opportunities for our economy, labour market, financial markets and more. She is known for distilling huge ideas into information organizations can use for strategic planning.

  • Work, Life, Bloom: How to Nurture a Team that Flourishes with Dan Pontefract

Culture change expert and 5x TED presenter Dan Pontefract explores how attempts to achieve work/life balance lead to further burnout, stress and unhappiness. Instead, he presents a compelling argument for a more holistic approach, promoting the idea of “blooming” through the integration of work and the personal aspects of life.

  • Leadership in the Age of Distraction with Ian Chisholm

Leadership practitioner Ian Chisholm, co-founder and partner of the Victoria-based Roy Group and a master in leadership development, will host an interactive session exploring how leaders can keep teams engaged, motivated and focused in the age of massive distractions.

Rising Economy 2024 also features dozens of in-person and virtual panels, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities on various topics. Highlights include the March 6 fireside with B.C.’s privacy commissioner Michael McEvoy in conversation with Jaimie Boyd of Deloitte and a conversation about US-Canada relations with PNWER CEO Matt Morrison and B.C. Senator Yuen Pau Woo.

“Rising Economy began in 2020 as a one-off way to connect virtually during the pandemic. Today, based on popular demand, Rising Economy is an annual event that is both a catalyst for change in our region and an important point of connection and collaboration for businesses and other organizations who want to succeed in the new economy,” says Emilie de Rosenroll, CEO of South Island Prosperity Partnership.

RBC Royal Bank is the returning Presenting Sponsor for the conference. “At RBC, we are committed to supporting the growth and prosperity of businesses on Vancouver Island,” says Martin Thibodeau, Regional President, RBC. “ We look forward to sharing insights and ideas at the conference to help communities, governments and organizations thrive in the new economy.”

Tickets for the in-person portion of the conference are sold out, but there are still tickets available for the virtual day on March 8 (available at no charge). See the agenda at ourrisingeconomy.com.
