Victoria Hospitality Awards Recognizes Faye Meggison of Helijet

Faye Meggison of Helijet is the latest recipient of the Victoria Hospitality Award, which recognizes those in the local hospitality sector who go the extra mile in customer service.

Faye Meggison of Helijet is the latest recipient of the Victoria Hospitality Award, which recognizes those in the local hospitality sector who go the extra mile in customer service. Faye’s nomination came to us from anonymous, who said:

“A guest of the Oak Bay Beach Hotel left two pieces of luggage behind. She was halfway across the strait to Vancouver on a BC Ferry when she noticed (the missing luggage). They were flying out of YVR at 2a.m. I phoned Faye and she, without hesitation, said “we could fly these two small bags on the last flight of the night to Vancouver.

Not only that, but she said she would contact the guest and get the bags transferred to Vancouver Airport! What incredible service even though the guests did not even use Helijet. This is true Victoria Hospitality at its best and the guest will probably never forget this kindness.”

Congratulations to Faye, for going above and beyond in hospitality and creating an exceptional experience for her guests.

What is the Victoria Hospitality Award?

The Victoria Hospitality Award program was founded in 1994.  A not-for-profit society was formed with a mandate to recognize individuals from the Greater Victoria area for outstanding hospitality.  Outstanding hospitality is defined as a random act of kindness that goes over and above the expected to meet the needs of an individual.

Committee members meet once per month to review ballots and select that month’s winner. The winners receive a signed Victoria Hospitality Award Program certificate, a letter of commendation, a City of Victoria pin engraved with the winner’s name, and numerous other gifts from Committee members representing various sectors of our community. There is a special event hosted annually to celebrate the nominees and monthly winners.

The nomination ballots can be found online at Tourism Victoria and on the Victoria Hospitality Awards website.
