IN THE KNOW:
Douglas is a Finalist in Two Categories at the National Magazine Awards!
By Douglas Staff
The National Magazine Awards are the most prestigious prizes for periodicals in Canada. Just being nominated for one is a rare and difficult honour to achieve. So it is with great pride that we are announcing that Douglas, Victoria’s business magazine, is a finalist in two categories for the 2024 NMA and NMA B2Bs.
Our talented director of photography Jeffrey Bosdet is nominated for his compelling series of portraits of women in the trades. They accompany a story entitled “Power Tools,” which explores the challenges and opportunities for women in the construction industry.
Also, in the NMA B2B Awards, Douglas is nominated for writer Andrew Findlay’s thoughtful and thought-provoking feature story “Downtown’s Dilemma,” which looks at the issues of street disorder in our city’s core, its causes, possible solutions and how it all affects local businesses.
All of us at Page One Publishing are thrilled and honoured to be nominated alongside so many of Canada’s great writers, photographers and publications. Congratulations to all the nominees!

From this humble beginning, Scotty Manufacturing evolved to produce
thousands of products under the Scotty trademark, focusing on fishing, marine, outdoor and firefighting industries worldwide.
