One of the first phases of Broadmead Village’s $8.1 million dollar renovation is now complete. The improvements to the outdoor areas in the centre by Grosvenor Americas have been designed to facilitate community interaction and create suitable spaces for social gatherings and events while enhancing the overall shopping experience.
“Grosvenor has always focused on ‘place-making’ and has many successful development examples worldwide,” says Alison Miles Cork, Senior Asset Manager, Grosvenor Americas. “Creating a community gathering place at Broadmead Village exemplifies the group’s ‘Living Cities’ brand,… [which] not only focuses on the importance of thriving communities and a high quality of life but the incorporation of thoughtful design at each and every one of our developments.”
On August 17, from noon to 4 PM, there will be a public unveiling of the new space, which includes a new water feature, fireplace, covered seating area and free WiFi. The community is invited to enjoy treats, games, activities, art displays and more in
Broadmead’s newest community gathering place.
“We want to welcome the community to our newly renovated plaza to present how the space has been transformed into a gathering place and social space,” Cork says.
Artists from the Broadmead community will have displays set up throughout the breezeway to paint and sculpt while showcasing their work. Live music will play throughout the event. Visitors to the opening event will be the first to see the revitalized plaza, which also features WiFi and games tables.
The project is anticipated to complete in the fall of 2013. Improvements to the outdoor areas in the centre have been designed to facilitate community interaction and create suitable spaces for social gatherings and events while enhancing the overall shopping
experience.
