Says Robyn, “I was born into a Real Estate family. Once my father left the Air Force, he became a Realtor and developer here in Victoria. I grew up driving around the city and up the island listening to his plans unfold for this project or that. My favorite part of these projects was how the money worked. Doing “the math” on costs and profits, calculating the risks and enjoying the windfalls. There were many ups and downs during the 70’s and 80’s. After travelling as a young adult, I got into real estate to fund my post-secondary education. I was interested in veterinary care and developed a keen interest in microbiology especially hematology and immunology and was headed towards research. As it turned out, I didn’t just make the thousands of dollars in the 1st couple of years in the business, as I had planned. When I finally made enough money to support myself and pay for school, I found I loved my job; I loved the people and the role I played in their happiness, and I have never left.”
