Ever wondered about a career in the Film Industry or how you can get involved?  More than 30 different film industry departments will be represented at this exciting and informative event.  Come speak with professionals from the industry and find ways you can begin your exciting career in the high paying industry. Sit in on our informative seminars from a variety of specialized areas throughout the day, selected to help inform you of all of your possibilities and achievement potential.

Experienced local crew is a key factor to attract productions receiving BC labour tax incentives. Re-building this local crew base is one of the Film Commission’s top priorities for 2017. We have held several general and union required training workshops over the last few months on topics including location scouting, set safety (ActSafe) and Motion Picture Industry Orientation (MPIO).

The career fair will be largest and most comprehensive of these training events. Tables will be staffed by one or two people from each department. Visitors will be able to talk to film labour union representatives, film schools, film co-ops and working crew members. A seminar area will feature ongoing talks from industry professionals explaining their roles and how to get started in the field.
