Tourism Victoria’s annual general meeting on April 22 will honour two people who have made significant contributions to Greater Victoria’s tourism economy.
Svein Haugen, Director of Properties and Land Management with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, is the recipient of the 33th annual Miracle Award. The Miracle Award recognizes an outstanding individual or group that has shown leadership in the development of the tourism industry in Greater Victoria.
Al Clark, the founder and organizer of Northwest Deuce Days, is the recipient of the 2016 Life Member Award. The Life Member Award recognizes an individual’s exceptional contributions to Tourism Victoria, the tourism industry and the Greater Victoria community.
“We are delighted to once again report on strong business results, and celebrate two incredibly deserving award recipients,” Tourism Victoria President and CEO Paul Nursey said. “It is important to acknowledge the partnerships that are allowing Greater Victoria to shine — today and for many years to come.”
The awards are being presented on April 22 at the Harbour Towers Hotel and Suites as part of Tourism Victoria’s annual general meeting.
