New Dean of Faculty of Management at Royal Roads University

RRU William Holmes webVictoria – Royal Roads University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. William R. Holmes to the position of dean of the Faculty of Management, effective September 8, 2015. “Dr. Holmes brings a wealth of experience to this integral role at Royal Roads,” says Steve Grundy, vice-president academic and provost. “His extensive experience in international business and business education will be a tremendous asset to the university.”
Holmes joins Royal Roads from the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, where he has held positions since 2010, first as dean, Faculty of Business and more recently as vice-provost.
He served as adjunct professor and executive director in the undergraduate program in the Faculty of Business Administration at Simon Fraser University, and as the instructional manager (dean) of the business division for the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. His career has spanned the corporate and educational sectors and has included assignments in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Holmes holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Arts in Philosophy (ethics) from the University of Waterloo and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Philosophy, also from the University of Waterloo.
He holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA) and Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) designations and serves on the Board of Governors of the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and as the treasurer and chair of the Finance and Audit Committee on the Board of Directors for the Association of International Educators (NAFSA). He has taught at the Copenhagen Business School, Simon Fraser University, the University of Northern British Columbia and the Higher Colleges of Technology.
