Broadmead Care Society Elects New Board

(News Release) VICTORIA — The Broadmead Care Society held its annual general meeting on June 28, 2012 and elected four new members to its Board of Directors:

Robert (Bob) Cronin — retired consultant and social worker, former assistant deputy minister of Health and Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Social Services and past Board Chair of Beacon Community Services;

Daphne Goode — well-known media personality and community volunteer, her awards include Honorary Citizen of Victoria, the YM/YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, C-FAX Community Award (Arts), Intercultural Association of Greater Victoria Outstanding Leadership Award and the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities Long Service Award;

Michael F. Morres — President of the Naval Officers Association of Vancouver Island, Past President of Pacific Opera and member of the National Executive of the Naval Association of Canada; and

David R. Wilson — a lawyer with Wilson Marshall Law Corp., he has volunteered on many Boards including the Saanich Police Board. He is the past Chair of the St. Georges Housing Society, past President of the Union Club of British Columbia and helped build Harris Green Village on Yates Street.

Returning Board members include Sharlene Smith (Chair), Marian Knock (Vice-Chair), Chris Carter (Treasurer), Heather Fisher, Vice Admiral (Ret’d) Russell Moore, Paul Morgan, Helen Evans and Cheryl Moir-vanIersel.  Retired from the Board are Hy Freedman and Dan LeBlanc.
