Microsoft game guru to speak at DVBA AGM

Jun 14, 2012

(News Release) VICTORIA — Don Mattrick, President of Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft Corporation, will speak in Victoria next week at the 2012 Downtown Victoria Business Association AGM luncheon. Mattrick, who was raised in Vancouver and now calls Victoria home, was instrumental in bringing the newest office for Microsoft's growing gaming division to Victoria last year. As the keynote speaker for the DVBA AGM and luncheon, he will speak about the many reasons why Microsoft and others have chosen Victoria as the location for new technology-based business.

Last year, Don was recognized by Fortune Magazine as being one of the "Smartest People in Tech 2011" and this year, CNN Money identified him as amongst the top 10 brilliant technology visionaries. Mattrick is largely credited for his work in bringing Kinect for Xbox 360 to life.

The lunch will be held at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday June 20, at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance by June 15. Please call 250-386-2238 for tickets.
