Two New Members Join Royal BC Museum Board

(News Release) VICTORIA – The Royal BC Museum (RBCM) welcomes John Williams and Susan Knott to its Board of Directors.
Bringing 45 years of experience in the hospitality industry, John Williams recently served as executive vice president for Fairmont Raffles Hotels and was responsible for transitioning the company into the largest luxury hotel group in the world. He held past appointments as general manager of New York’s St. Regis Hotel, Vancouver’s Pan Pacific Hotel and Victoria’s Fairmont Empress.
Williams has sat on a number of boards, including Tourism British Columbia, Vancouver Hotel Association and Victoria Hospital Foundation.
For the past 15 years, Susan Knott's career has focused on organizational consulting, specializing in event and volunteer management. Previously, Knott served as member of the British Columbia Board of Parole and the National Parole Board of Canada.
A Vancouver resident, Knott has firsthand exposure to all levels of Canadian government, has significant involvement with community organizations on the Lower Mainland and has travelled extensively throughout North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.
“I’m pleased to welcome these two accomplished professionals to the board,” says RBCM Board Chair Donald Hayes. “I’d also like to recognize the significant contributions of those members who have recently left: Kenneth Mahon, Allison McNeill, Barbara Rae and Anna Nyarady.”
RBCM board members are: Donald Hayes (chair), David McMillan, Peter Gustavson, Susan Knott, Graham Lee, Bud Smith, Neil Sterritt, Margaret Vandenberg, Lillian White and John Williams.
