The Vic West Art Quest (VWAQ) is an annual visual arts event that includes an open studio walkabout in the neighbourhood of Victoria West organized by artists living and/or working in the Victoria West Community. This year the studios and art venues will be open to the public on Saturday, May 12, and Sunday, May 13, from 1 to 5 p.m. This is a self-guided bikeable and walkable tour and is a great way to discover original art and Vic West’s community spirit.

The VWAQ will also host a group show for the month of May at the Spiral Cafe and Hemp & Co, 418/422 Craigflower Road. Everyone is welcome to attend the opening reception on Friday, May 11, from 7 to 9 pm where brochures and maps to the artist’s studios will be available. See also www.vicwestartquest.com for maps.

The Art Quest is on the same weekend as the Vic West Fest — another community celebration, held on May 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All events are free of charge.


Artists will be on hand in their studios to answer questions and will showcase a variety of works, including: original oil, watercolour and acrylic paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, and film. Many of the artists use a variety of mixed media in their pieces.
