Westland Insurance Group Ltd. To Acquire Thunderbird Insurance Services Ltd.

(News Release) PORT ALBERNI – Westland Insurance Group Ltd. today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Thunderbird Insurance Services Ltd., an independent insurance agency located in Port Alberni, BC. The transaction marks the continuation of Westland's acquisition strategy of insurance agencies through out British Columbia. The purchase will complete on March 31st, 2010. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1973, Thunderbird Insurance has served the communities of Port Alberni, Ucluelet and Tofino for over 35 years. The firm specializes in automobile, house, condo, tenant, travel and business insurance. Located in the heart of Port Alberni, Thunderbird Insurance generates over $1,000,000 in annual commissions and has 13 employees.
