Finalists for MISTIC Innovation Awards

(News Release) NANAIMO – The 17 finalists for the seventh annual MISTIC (Mid-Island Science Technology and Innovation Council) Innovation Awards have been released. The finalists represent the diverse range of technology-based innovators from across Vancouver Island (Malahat North to the tip of the Island), the Sunshine Coast, and Gulf Islands.
“The finalists for this year’s MISTIC Awards really show the amazing range of businesses that are pushing the boundaries and carving out the Island as a growing technology hub,” said Paris Gaudet, Executive Director, MISTIC. “There is mind-blowing innovation being developed and the awards are a chance for the creativity and vision of businesses and individuals to be recognized by their peers and their community.”

The winners will be announced on November 2 in Nanaimo at the MISTIC Awards that will nostalgically honour cutting-edge technological products from years gone past. The “Retro Tech” themed evening will be at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre starting at 5:30 p.m., running untill midnight. Tickets are available for $90 for the Award ceremony and guests will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with industry pioneers and innovators. Tickets can be purchased online.

The Innovation Awards were created in 2006 to highlight and recognize the emergence of many knowledge-based businesses on the Island.
