Pat Bell to Give Luncheon Address at State of the Island Economic Summit in Nanaimo

(News Release) VICTORIA — Pat Bell will be the featured speaker at the networking luncheon on the second day of the 2012 State of the Island Economic Summit at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, October 15 and 16, 2012.
Minister Bell joins Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney and Premier Christy Clark in headlining an impressive list of summit presenters.
“We are delighted to have Minister Bell speaking at the Economic Summit this year,” says summit chair Rick Roberts. “His message regarding the state of the BC economy, and the Island economy in particular, will be of interest to everyone gathered.”
Pat Bell was appointed Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training and the Minister Responsible for Labour on September 5, 2011. He was re-elected for a third term as MLA for Prince George-Mackenzie in 2009.
Pat has previously served as Minister of Forests, Mines and Lands, Minister of Forests and Range, Minister of Agriculture and Lands and as Minister of State for Mining.
Minister Bell has served on the Government Caucus Committee on Natural Resources and B.C. Task Force on Mining, and as chair of the Small Scale Salvage Review Committee. Pat has also served on the Legislative Select Standing Committees on Education and Crown Corporations.
Prior to becoming an MLA, Pat owned a trucking company and co-owned a logging company. He also worked in the hospitality sector as a small business owner and at the corporate level for more than 30 years and currently owns two restaurants.
