Superheroes Suit Up for Easter Seals
Sep 12, 2012
(News Release) VICTORIA — Superheroes from across Vancouver Island will assemble high above downtown Victoria this Thursday in support of children with disabilities. The Easter Seals Drop Zone offers brave individuals the thrill of rappelling 13 stories down the CIBC building at 1175 Douglas.
One by one, fearless Islanders will take a giant leap out of their comfort zone, all in celebration of months of fundraising for a very special cause. While many of the participants will protect their true identities by suiting up in their favorite superhero costume, one thing cannot be kept secret: their common goal to help children with disabilities.
Drop Zone superheroes come from an assortment of backgrounds and include; members of the Victoria media, Mayor of Saanich Frank Leonard, and Crystal Maxwell, who made headlines this summer when her online posts about her romantic husband currently deployed on board the HMCS Regina went viral.
All proceeds from the Victoria Drop Zone remain on Vancouver Island to help Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan for children with disabilities and Easter Seals House.
