The Victoria Chamber Call for 2013 Board Nominations

(News Release) VICTORIA — The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce is one of the most influential community boards in BC. The Chamber Board of Directors is charged with representing the Greater Victoria business community. The board members meet regularly with senior business leaders and decision makers at local, provincial, national and international levels. The Chamber board has also had the opportunity to host and meet personally with the Governor of the Bank of Canada in previous years.
Have you considered being a member of the Board of Directors? If not, you should.
The primary work of the Chamber board is to set the strategic direction and priorities and ensure that the Chamber is apprised of and reacts appropriately to changing economic conditions. The Chamber board is supported by a cadre of full-time staff, allowing the board to concentrate on strategic issues and decision making.
Being a member of the Chamber board is a significant commitment that involves attending monthly board meetings, participating in at least one Chamber committee, and attending Chamber and community events. However, the commitment also brings benefits. Being a board member allows you to be actively involved in some of the most important issues facing our business community and our region, and to give back to the community by contributing the knowledge and expertise you have developed throughout your professional life.
