The Island Savings Board of Directors has been working hard under new leadership. Colleen Johel is the newly elected Board Chair and James McKenzie is the new Vice Chair. Both have been long-standing members of the Board of Directors.
“On behalf of Island Savings and its members, I extend my welcome and congratulations to Colleen and James,” said Rod Dewar, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Colleen has been an Island Savings Board member since May 9, 2000. She is Managing Partner of a five-lawyer firm in Duncan. In addition to serving as Chair of the Board, Colleen is a past Chair and current director of the Governance and Nominations Committees. She was previously elected Vice Chair of the Board in 2008, a position she has held until now.
James has been an Island Savings Board member since May 31, 2006. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Monk Office, a family business with head offices, a distribution centre, and an office interiors showroom based in Victoria; Monk also has 10 retail locations throughout Vancouver Island.
Both Colleen and James are strongly committed to the prosperity of the Islands. Under their guidance the Board of Directors will help Island Savings continue to enrich the lives of its members and the local community by contributing to Island Savings' financial success.
