Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Project Director and Audit of the Compliance Department and working closely with Global Compliance Directors, the primary purpose of the Regulatory Analyst is to provide report analysis and preparation for regulatory bodies, compute capital adequacy and permissible investment amounts, and routinely analyze and monitor capital resources and unclaimed property to ensure compliance with regulations globally.
The incumbent encompasses very strong analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to interpret information accurately and efficiently, extremely detail-oriented, and possesses excellent organizational and time management skills in order to meet or exceed deadline expectations.
The Regulatory Analyst will liaise with all members of the Compliance Department, other Custom House internal Departments, and members of various regulatory bodies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report preparation for all regulatory bodies in a global organization, banking partners, auditors and stakeholders as required.
- Capital adequacy, permissible investments and transmission liability computations
- Routine examinations of segregated accounts to validate that regulatory processes are complied with and amounts maintained in the accounts are accurate
- Routinely monitor and review capital resources and requirements to ensure compliance with regulations
- Analyze all unclaimed property and determine if it falls under the exemption provisions of the relevant legislation.If not, ensure unclaimed property is reported accordingly and forfeited as prescribed by law
- Support the team in providing information for compliance and investigation procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, internal departments in relation to financial matters
- Work with Compliance in refining new processes and continuous improvements
- Assist in research of new regulatory requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work across functional departments
- Detail oriented
- Advanced skills using Excel
- Experience with IT Systems report production output
- Understanding of how transactional and accounting systems interrelate
- Ability to interpret data and provide information that can be acted on
- Good organizational and time management skills
Qualifications:
- At least 2-years experience in accounting, audit and/or compliance/legal functions for financial institutions
- A bachelors degree or designation in accounting or finance
