Description

Reporting to the Director, Retail Services the Marketing Associate is responsible for working closely with the retail branches (including Sales Leaders and frontline Sales Consultants) to develop a solid understanding of the retail market, in order to recommend and implement effective and measurable marketing plans. The individual ensures marketing strategies and tactics support retail sales goals and adhere to corporate objectives, and ensures that they are implemented successfully and in a timely manner. They will work closely with the central Online Marketing and Creative Services team to drive the tactical execution of all retail marketing campaigns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Continuous engagement with Retail Sales Leader team to understand market conditions, regional challenges, strengths and weaknesses to assist in the development of effective and sales aligned marketing strategies.
• Assist the Director, Retail Services in the development of annual business reviews and marketing plans
• Work closely with the Retail Sales Leaders to understand market conditions, industry trends, competitive landscape and to identify market opportunity.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations on project ideas/opportunities arising from the unit.
• Tactical execution of all campaigns within the Retail Marketing Plans, including Tradeshows, Events, Advertising, Webinars, Direct Marketing, Sales collateral and more.
• Ensuring effective time and budget management.
• Co-ordination of all Event Marketing Tactics (Tradeshows, Hospitality, Local Events), including but not limited to conference facilities, exhibiting space, signage and displays, audio visual equipment, electrical and internet connections, carpeting, furniture, lighting, hotel and travel booking.
• Ensure the accurate tracking of campaigns, and formalized post initiative analysis to consistently measure program effectiveness.
• Consistent and timely tracking and reporting of marketing budget
• Ensure that the Custom House brand is properly represented in all retail marketing campaigns, events, and marketing materials.
• Ongoing research of new industry event opportunities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Thorough knowledge of marketing principles and practices
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Survey Monkey
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong working knowledge of event planning, marketing and communications
• Exemplary time management, organizational and project management skills
• Ability to manage several projects under tight timelines
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills
• A strong team player – with a desire and ability to contribute to a positive team environment
• Creative and self motivated (demonstrate a proactive attitude)
• Travel is a requirement of this position
 

Qualifications
• Undergraduate Business Degree – Marketing focus an asset
• 2+ years related experience working in a marketing or communications role
• Work experience in the financial services industry an asset
